Jan. 11 - Deadline to file Declaration of Candidacy form by 4:30 p.m. There will be a short orientation meeting for all candidates at 5:00 p.m. Drawing of lots by candidates or their representatives (with written authorization from the candidate) for all three rounds of ballot positions at 5:30 p.m.

Jan. 17 - Optional candidate 8-1/2” x 11” flyers already printed and ready for mailing shall be submitted between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Candidate‘s statement and recent photograph no smaller than 1 1/2” x 2” for UNITED TEACHER are due at UTLA by 5:00 p.m. Statement should be submitted on form provided in Election Packet, including photograph position. Statement will be photocopied as submitted for a special election supplement.

Jan. 25 - Special election issue of UNITED TEACHER mailed. Jan. 28 - Candidates’ flyers mailed first class. Jan. 31 - Ballots mailed to membership. Feb. 21 - Ballots picked up by Election Committee at post office at 8:00 a.m.  Ballots received after 8:00 a.m. will not be counted.  Ballots counted. Financial disclosure report due by 5:00p.m.  Summary of report will be published in March 14 issue of UNITED TEACHER.

Mar. 13 - Second round of ballots mailed to membership. Candidates’ statements as printed in the UNITED TEACHER special election issue will be mailed with ballot.

Mar. 14 - Results published in UNITED TEACHER.

Apr. 3 - Ballots picked up by Election Committee at post office at 8:00 a.m.  Ballots received after 8:00 a.m. will not be counted.  Second round of ballots counted. Financial disclosures are due by 5:00 p.m. Summary will be published in April 18 issue of UNITED TEACHER.

Apr. 18 - Results of second round of balloting published in UNITED TEACHER.

For election results: In addition to publication in the UNITED TEACHER issues mentioned above, balloting results will be posted on www.utla.net as quickly as possible, although results will be pending ratification by the UTLA Board of Directors.
