An Experienced Leader and Advocate

I have been teaching in year round schools for 24 years. There are many issues unique to year round schools. I know first hand how hard it is to begin the school year without supplies and materials because the District is still on a single track schedule. I also know how difficult it is to coordinate scheduling within a school when there are 3 or 4 different calendars to work with and each track is the size of a single school.

I teach at Wadsworth Ave Elementary School in Central Area . I am presently chapter chair and have been working to unite our staff. I have done a lot of community outreach with parents so that we can begin to work together as teachers and parents to make the necessary changes and stop the harmful district mandates coming our way.

In the House of Representatives, on the Central Area Steering Committee, and, if elected, on the Board of Directors, I have brought and will continue to bring the particular concerns of year-round schools to the union as a whole.

The only way that we can improve education and address the needs of our students is to organize ourselves and unite with the communities where we work
