Juan Ramirez

I am running for this position because I believe that teachers need to be treated as professionals. I strongly believe that students are more than just a test score. I don’t think that a one-size-fits-all curriculum is best for all of our students.

 


I believe I have sufficient experience having served as:

  • Chapter Chair
  • UTLA House of Representatives member
  • NEA Representative Assembly member
  • Co-Chair of the Bilingual Education Committee
  • South Area Steering Committee member

I’ll use this experience to represent you against the unfair demands from the district.

  • As a Board member I will advocate for:
  • Competitive salaries and benefits
  • Lowering class size
  • Reducing mandated assessments and scripted lessons plans
  • School site autonomy
  • Building alliances with parents, community groups and organized labor
