I am proud to be a candidate for Central UTLA/NEA Board of Directors on the Untied Action team. During the last three years, I have seen the United Action leaders help lead the union in a direction that improves salaries and working conditions for teachers and learning conditions for students. Is there anything more important than that for union leaders?

 


As an Early Education teacher it is my job to nurture and prepare our little ones for school. But to make education truly meaningful for our students we need:

  • Smaller classes
  • Better-paid teachers
  • More local control at the school site
  • More freedom from the punishing effects of No Child Left Behind

As your Board member these will be my priorities. But we know that a union is only powerful if its members are organized and ready to stand up for what’s right. That is why I am committed to working with my fellow union leaders to strengthen UTLA from the bottom up.

  • Increased local Decision Making
