The four of us look forward to continuing our work in the East Area as your Board of Directors. We feel privileged to represent you on UTLA’s Board of Directors.

Three years ago when we ran for the Board of Directors we said we wanted to use the area meetings to provide support for our chapter chairs and as a forum to discuss both the struggles facing us and the positive things going on in our schools. We believe we were successful in these areas. We also wanted to outreach to our parents, community and other LAUSD unions. We feel this is an area that needs improvement. We need to get a teacher at each of our schools to participate in UTLA’s community outreach program. Our team will continue to be there to support you in your struggles against incompetent administrators as we did last year at Dena ES and Murchison ES.

In closing I would like to thank the teachers in the East Area for all you do for the children in our area.
